No plastic bags, please!

We received a notice in May, June, and July reminding us that Tacoma Recycling cannot accept plastic bags. If you have items you carry to the recycle bin in plastic bags, please dump the contents into the containers and place the plastic bag in the garbage.

Recycling rules vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Items recycled in Seattle differ from those accepted in Tacoma, and Chicago differs from Los Angeles, etc. This variance makes little sense, but each contracted waste disposal company sets rules that support their efficiency and pricing

Thank you for working together, so we aren’t in jeopardy of losing our bins.
