Our building has a voice evacuation alert system. This will operate automatically in the event of ansprinkler head operating anywhere in the building or a hardwired common area smoke detectornactivation. The basic voice evacuation message is preprogrammed into the system. After the FirenDepartment has arrived, they can make any customized announcement.nThe speakers for the voice evacuation alert system are mounted in the hall and bedrooms of eachnresidential unit. The speakers require no resident maintenance.nThe speakers in the common areas include a strobe unit which provides a visual cue for an evacuation.nIf someone in your household is hearing impaired and cannot hear your unit’s speakers, contactnbuilding maintenance to discuss having your speakers replaced with a strobe & speaker combination.nThis voice evacuation alert system may also be used by the Emergency Response Team to makenannouncements only in an area wide disaster.
